1. On a spreadsheet, break your entire piece into each and every piece of wood.
Actually if you ask for 4/4 (1") thick wood, you need to remember that it refers to the rough sawn thickness. If you take home 4/4 S2S (Surfaced 2 Sides) timber it'll actually be more like 3/4" thick.
Tip: Always make the largest pieces first!
