Well, although this image doesn't look massively different from the last, most of the parts are now glued into place and the magnets for the drawers are in. I've cut out the deck lid ready to slide into the Rabbets. Once in place, I'll be able to flock the drawers and add the ribbon needed to easily remove a deck of cards from the small drawer. I'll then glue the drawer keeps in place and the face pieces will be next. At that point, I can route a rounded edge around the top. The padded top should take a few hours to make and glue into place and then my friends, it'll be ready.
If anyone wants a copy of the CAD drawing for this close up pad, I'd be more than happy to email a copy to you if you get in touch.
No glue yet but in the space of a day I was able to cut each of the pieces you see in the image above to exact sizes. Some internals now benefit from enhanced structural stability due to strategic use of 1/4" ply which will not expand or contract with changes in humidity. I'm only able to use ply however where it will never be seen.
All I need to finish the mock up are the fascia trims that go above and below the drawer fronts to finish off the front of the close up pad.
