Say you're a company and you want to make something you never made before.
You'll 'Design it completely' You'll 'Find out how to make it' You'll 'Find out what it'll cost'
Then you'll 'Find out how many you need to sell to get your money back', right?
Custom furniture is the same but 'we only get to make ONE'.
To give a price, we need to do that groundwork to avoid guessing or gambling.
So there are 2 steps to the process.
Step 1 - Research and development (the foundation for your estimate)
Step 2 - Manufacture and delivery
Research and development
We'd meet or call to discuss the project and answer any questions. (Sorry, no showroom, if you're local we come to you or meet for coffee if you prefer)
If you'd like an estimate, we'd take an appropriate cover fee to pay for the following:
We'll draft the design We'll provide any requested samples or color chips We'll price consumables and materials We'll price hardware (hinges, handles, knobs, pulls etc) We'll get estimates from vendors (glass, upholstery or metal fabrication) We'll find out any appropriate freight, shipping or delivery charges
We can estimate labor costs We can add everything together and we can provide an estimate based on the facts
Manufacture and delivery
If you decide to go ahead, we'll provide a formal contract for your records. It will include our terms of service and will need a signature, down payment (minus the cover charge) and date.
Next, the SCHEDULE
We'll order supplies and let you know how long it'll take to get other projects out of the way.
With a plan, design, and materials in hand, it's time to get to work.
We'll deliver or have it shipped or mailed to you, or if you prefer, you can collect it.
