A limed Effect can be used to emphasise the grain pattern on Oak... It is customary to create samples before applying this effect to the finished article so you know exactly how it'll look. I love that with this finish you have amazing control of how the finished piece with turn out. Contact me if you'd like to know more... Left piece - Wire brushed aggressively. I removed some of the excess liming wax immediately and I'll let the rest dry first just to see the difference. There are many ways to achieve this look, all of which can be beautiful but it's wise to practice first to choose your preferred option.
Middle piece - Sanded to 180 grit only. Not limed at all. Piece to the right - lightly wire brushed and limed then the excess was wiped off immediately. Although pretty, this is more of a pickled effect than limed in my opinion.
